Junior High Girls Basketball teams both defeat Driver

7th Grade: The 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Driver in a dominating performance, winning 33-4. The Bears smothering defense led to several steals and transition buckets as well as 18 jump ball tie ups. They displayed unselfish play and balanced scoring, along with strong rebounding and great ball control. Mila Morris led the scoring attack with 12 points to go along with 4 steals and 1 assist. Lucy Huston led the defensive attack with 6 steals to go along with 10 points and 2 assists. Gracie McCreery and Izzy McGrath both had 4 points to go with 4 steals for Gracie and 2 steals for Izzy. Landry Taylor rounded out the scoring column with 2 points to go with 3 steals and several jump ball tie ups. The girls play again next Tuesday at home against Shenandoah. Go Bears! 8th Grade: The 8th grade girls opened up their season with a big win against rival Winchester. At halftime the Lady Bears had built a lead by a score of 30-9, with the final score being 46-26. Aberee Ervin led all scorers with 24pts along with her 8 assists. Charlee Morris scored 6 pts. Coming off the bench, Brylie Tinsman and Abby Thomas both scored 6 pts as well and Oakleigh Davis and Brynlee Patterson each added a bucket. It was a total team effort as all the 8th grade lady bears saw playing time tonight. Great 1st win of the season against Winchester.
