6th/7th Grade: The 6th and 7th grade girls faced off against the Selma Braves for 2 quarters of action Thursday evening. The short handed Braves were forced to bring in reinforcements, eventually outscoring the Lady Bears 15-10. The Bears were led in scoring by Lucy Huston with 5. Claire Cheeseman made her first 3 pointer of the season and Izzy McGrath added 2. The Lady Bears travel to Blackford on Monday for their first of 3 games next week. Go Bears! 8th Grade: Bill Russel once said, “Creating unselfishness is the most important team attribute”. The Lady Bears took that to heart as they worked the ball around looking for open teammates on the night. They finished the game with a season high 16 assists, 11 of which came in the first half. Brynlee Patterson and Aberee Ervin each had 6 assists with Patterson scoring 8 pts while grabbing 5 rebounds. Ervin finished with 10 pts and 5 steals. Oaklei Davis capitalized off of the generous passing from her teammates and led all scorers with 14pts while collecting 3 assists and 4 rebounds of her own. Charlee Morris chipped in 6 pts and Brylie Tinsman 4pts to round out the scoring in a game where they held their opponent scoreless in the 2nd half. The Bears will be busy next week as they have 2 road games and 1 at Home to finish out their regular season.
