Varsity Softball falls to Blackford

The Bears fell to Blackford Monday. Aubrey Johnson, Jayme Brannan, and Makaylah Brainerd each had a hit for the Bears with Johnson and Brainerd hitting doubles. The Bears travel to Shenandoah Tuesday for a 5:30p start. The Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School varsity softball team fell to the Blackford High School Bruins in a regular season game played on April 15. The Bears, typically known for fierce competition, faced a tough game that concluded with the Bruins securing a win with a score of 18-0 at their home ground in Blackford. Monroe Central did have bright spots as Aubrey Johnson, Mak Brainerd, and Jayme Brannan each managed to get a hit. The Bears had Maria Oliphant as the anchor, taking the mound as the starting pitcher. Kloee Brannan came in relief. Looking ahead, the Bears will aim to bounce back on April 16 when they are set to play Shenandoah High School at their home turf.
