Tonight our Varsity Lady Golden Bears traveled to take on the Rockets of Union in the first round of the Randolph Co Tournament. Our Varsity team suffered another injury last night which caused some additional rotation changes but that didn't stop our determination. Our Golden Bears took a 3-set straight victory tonight with scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-18. The team played very well together tonight and it showed in the great stats by several players. Junior Sophia Bolton had 1 Kill, 35 Assists and 17 Digs. Junior Shyan Bennett had 22 Kills, 25 Receptions, 2 Blocks and 13 Digs. Sophomore Raegan Quattlebaum had 2 Aces, 1 Kill, 9 Receptions and 15 Digs. Sophomore Taylor Oren had 1 Kill, 5 Receptions, 1 Block and 8 Digs. Again, the efforts from everyone on the floor tonight was outstanding. The Golden Bears move on to the semi-final round of the Randolph County Tournament where they will take on Randolph Southern this Saturday (9/28) at 9:00 a.m. Tournament play will resume at Union High School.
