7th Grade: The Monroe Central 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Muncie Southside last night by a score of 49-32 to improve to 5-2 on the season. A strong first half put the Bears up early in the game, and great defense limited the Panthers to only 9 points at the half. Great teamwork and hustle helped the Bears get their 5th win on the year. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 31, Weston Grove with 8, and Myles Oliphant with 5. The Bears return to action on Thursday at home against Selma. 8th Grade: The 8th grade boys got their second win of the season last night 35 to 25 over Muncie South. After suffering 2 one point losses last week the Bears extended a 4 point halftime lead to get the 10 point win. The Bears were led by Pierceton Erwin and Lane Dance with 14 and 11 respectively. Maddox Taylor chipped in 8. Next action is Thursday night when we host Selma.
