The boys basketball faced county rival Winchester Saturday night for the Randolph County Championship on the line. The bears took the lead early in the 1st quarter and never relinquished the lead. It was tied a few times in the 3rd quarter but the bears took the lead to start the 4th quarter. Winchester cut the lead to 2 with just over a minute left. Blake Bogue and Cole Munchel made some huge free throws to extend the lead. Easton Foster’s dunk with 49 seconds left sealed the game for the bears. Bears win 50-44. Randolph County Champs! Cole Munchel scored a game high 26 points and 6 rebounds. Easton Foster scored 8 Blake Bogue and Hayden Taylor each added 7 points apiece. Coach Melton after the game said the boys played hard and executed the game plan to a T. The boys next game is Friday at home against Mid-Eastern Conference foe Shenandoah.
