Varsity Softball falls to Winchester

Recap: The lady bears softball team lost a hard fought game last night to Winchester. Jayme Brannan and Aleiyah Davis both had three hits for the Bears. Aleiyah Davis and Raegan Quattlebaum both hit triples. The lady bears play at Union City tomorrow night starting at 5:30. Game Changer Recap: Monroe Central Varsity Bears Fall To Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons Despite Strong Effort From Aleiyah Davis By GameChanger Media Aleiyah Davis collected three hits in four at bats, but Monroe Central Varsity Bears lost to Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons 8-6 on Tuesday. Davis tripled in the seventh inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning. A single by Ava Lanter on a full count put Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons on the board in the bottom of the first. Haidyn Dumpert grounded out, which helped Monroe Central Varsity Bears tie the game at one in the top of the second. A ground out by Laura Walker gave Monroe Central Varsity Bears the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third. Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Macy Grasse doubled to center field, and Allie Campbell doubled down the right field line, each scoring two runs. Alyssa Cole earned the win for Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Davis took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The righty went six innings, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on 17 hits, striking out one and walking two. Cassidi Ruble stepped in the circle first for Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Monroe Central Varsity Bears collected 11 hits in the game. Jayme Brannon and Davis each collected three hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Zoie Hood, Brannon, Dumpert, Raegan Quattlebaum, and Walker each drove in one run for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Davis stole two bases. Monroe Central Varsity Bears stole five bases in the game. Monroe Central Varsity Bears turned one double play in the game. Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons amassed 17 hits in the game. Lanter provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Campbell set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons with four hits in four at bats. Delaney Byrd, Lizzie Frazier, and Madisen Hodson each collected multiple hits for Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons. Winchester Community Varsity Lady Falcons didn't commit a single error in the field. Lanter had the most chances in the field with five.
