Varsity Softball falls to Bluffton

Recap: The Lady Bears softball team lost a tough game against Bluffton. Both Raegan Quattlebaum and Aleiyah Davis got a hit for the team. Freshman, Kyra Brockman, did a great job pitching for the Bears. The Lady Bears play at home on Saturday against Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Eagles in their next game. Game Changer recap: Big First Inning Leads Bluffton Varsity Tigers Past Monroe Central Varsity Bears By GameChanger Media Bluffton Varsity Tigers scored 10 runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Monroe Central Varsity Bears 17-0 on Thursday. Bluffton Varsity Tigers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Madyson Sonnigsen singled, scoring one run, Tressa Renner drew a walk, scoring one run, Isabella Stout doubled, scoring two runs, Kierstynn Reed singled, scoring two runs, Averi Petty doubled, scoring two runs, Marly Drayer tripled, scoring one run, and Drayer scored after tagging up. Bluffton Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when a steal of home scored two runs, Petty singled, scoring one run, and Krista Blair scored after tagging up. Bluffton Varsity Tigers added one run in the third after Blair singled to left field. Kamryn Ault earned the win for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking two. Kyra Brockman pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The right-handed pitcher gave up 11 hits and nine runs while, striking out two and walking four. Aleiyah Davis took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, giving up eight runs on three hits, striking out none and walking three. Sonnigsen began the game for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two. Raegan Quattlebaum and Davis each collected one hit for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Bluffton Varsity Tigers accumulated 14 hits in the game. Renner, Stout, Petty, Reed, and Blair each collected two hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Sonnigsen and Petty each drove in three runs for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Bluffton Varsity Tigers had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Drayer and Renner led the team with two free passes each. Konley Ault stole two bases. Bluffton Varsity Tigers ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Bluffton Varsity Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Ault had the most chances in the field with five. Monroe Central Varsity Bears play at home on Saturday against Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Eagles in their next game.
