Varsity Baseball falls to Shenandoah

GameChanger Recap: Monroe Central Varsity Bears Stymied By Shenandoah By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears couldn't keep up with Shenandoah and fell 21-4 on Tuesday. Shenandoah jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Ethan Taylor doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Shenandoah extended their early lead with seven runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Collin Osenbaugh, Ezra Byrd, Aiden Coffey, Brandan Conyers, and Jarrett Helman. Shenandoah added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Conyers lined out, and Ashton Renz singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Shenandoah scored nine runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Osenbaugh singled, scoring one run, Taylor drew a walk, scoring one run, Renz drew a walk, scoring one run, Helman was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Drew Fredenburg was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Osenbaugh drew a walk, scoring one run, and Byrd doubled, scoring three runs. Fredenburg earned the win for Shenandoah. The starter surrendered three hits and four runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking four. Carter Duncan took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking two. Myles Oliphant, the number nine hitter for Monroe Central Varsity Bears, led the way with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Oliphant, Logan Walker, and Duncan each collected one hit for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Shenandoah tallied 14 hits in the game. Byrd led Shenandoah with three hits in three at bats. Osenbaugh and Taylor each collected multiple hits for Shenandoah. Shenandoah had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Byrd and Osenbaugh led the team with two walks each. Shenandoah turned one double play in the game. Shenandoah didn't commit a single error in the field. Renz had the most chances in the field with six.
