Junior High Baseball falls to Daleville

Monroe Central Junior High Stymied By Daleville By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Junior High had trouble keeping up with Daleville in an 10-2 loss on Thursday at Monroe Central Jr./Sr. High School. Daleville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lucas Haskett singled to right field, Carson Bates doubled down the left field line, Cole Wagner singled to right field, and Rayden Frye walked, each scoring one run. Daleville added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Wagner drew a walk, scoring one run, Trace Fritz was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and a passed ball scored one run. Alex Middleton pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Monroe Central Junior High. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out seven and walking three. Collin Baker began the game for Monroe Central Junior High. The starter surrendered five hits and seven runs (five earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking eight. Liam Mcmillian started the game for Daleville. The hurler surrendered three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking six. Middleton went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Monroe Central Junior High had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Griffin Maxwell and Peyton Stacy led the team with two bases on balls each. Parker Morris stole two bases. Daleville collected 10 hits in the game. Fritz, the number seven hitter for Daleville, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Jake Pugsley, Haskett, and Bates each collected two hits for Daleville. Daleville had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Wagner and Jayden Foutch led the team with three free passes each. Wagner stole three bases. Daleville stole eight bases in the game. Daleville were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Pugsley had the most chances in the field with 11.
