Hits Aplenty In Monroe Central Middle School Victory Over Cowan By GameChanger Media Both Monroe Central Middle School and Cowan had their offenses going on Monday, but Monroe Central Middle School eventually prevailed 22-11. Monroe Central Middle School collected 14 hits, while Cowan had seven. Monroe Central Middle School came back to win despite trailing 4-0 in the first. Cowan got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Audrey F singled to left field, Evelyn H walked, Faye G walked, and Audrey stole home, each scoring one run. Monroe Central Middle School flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring 10 runs on three hits to take the lead, 10-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Lucy H that drove in three. Monroe Central Middle School added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Izzy M singled to center field, Haidyn K was struck by a pitch, Cowan committed an error, Lilly L walked, Haidyn stole home, and Monroe Central Middle School scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Delainee W earned the win for Monroe Central Middle School. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and seven runs (four earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking six. Mae B took the loss for Cowan. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 13 runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out six and walking four. Alexa T stepped in the circle first for Monroe Central Middle School. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs (two earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking three. Alaina J began the game for Cowan. The pitcher gave up four hits and nine runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking six. Monroe Central Middle School collected 14 hits in the game. Bristol G led Monroe Central Middle School with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The third baseman went 2-for-5 on the day. Haidyn led Monroe Central Middle School with three hits in four at bats. Ivy P, Delainee, Lucy, and Izzy each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central Middle School. Lilly paced Monroe Central Middle School with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Lucy, Lilly, Mati M, and Haidyn each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central Middle School. Monroe Central Middle School ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 12 stolen bases for the game. MacKenzie G and Audrey each collected two hits for Cowan. Alaina and #3 each drove in two runs for Cowan. MacKenzie paced Cowan with two walks.
