Varsity Baseball falls to Wapahani

Monroe Central Varsity Bears Lose To Wapahani By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears lost to Wapahani 6-4 on Tuesday. Monroe Central Varsity Bears got on the board in the third inning after Carter Duncan grounded out, scoring one run. Clay Estep doubled down the left field line, which helped Wapahani tie the game at one in the top of the fourth. Wapahani took the lead in the top of the fifth. Nate Luce doubled, scoring one run, to give Wapahani the edge, 2-1. Caleb Luedike singled to center field, which helped Monroe Central Varsity Bears tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth. In the top of the sixth inning, Wapahani went back into the lead after Grayson Acosta doubled down the left field line, and Brandt Longfellow singled down the left field line, each scoring two runs. Kayson Perdue earned the win for Wapahani. The hurler allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Lane Wilson took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The pitcher went seven innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking four. Myles Oliphant led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Luedike led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two hits in four at bats. Acosta and Longfellow were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Wapahani. Eli Andrews went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wapahani in hits. Wapahani turned one double play in the game. Next up for Monroe Central Varsity Bears is a game at Eastern Hancock on Thursday.
