Monroe Central Varsity Bears With Tough Game Against Union County High School By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears couldn't keep up with Union County High School and fell 12-2 on Monday. Union County High School got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Monroe Central Varsity Bears committed an error, and Garrett doubled to center field, each scoring one run. A single by Carter, a double by Pilgrim, and a double by Schneider helped Union County High School extend their early lead in the second. Union County High School scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Schneider singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Long singled, scoring one run. K Burrough earned the win for Union County High School. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Kloee Brannan took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering six runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking two. Kyra Brockman started in the circle for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one. Klingman began the game for Union County High School. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none. Laura Walker led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with one run batted in. Jayme Brannan went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Monroe Central Varsity Bears in hits. Schneider drove the middle of the lineup, leading Union County High School with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Pilgrim, Schneider, and Long each collected two hits for Union County High School. Rudnick and Schneider each stole multiple bases for Union County High School.
