Monroe Central Varsity Bears Defeat Tri Behind Strong Performance From Isaac Middleton By GameChanger Media Isaac Middleton was dominant on the mound, as the pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in Monroe Central Varsity Bears's 9-3 victory over Tri on Tuesday. Middleton allowed two hits and two runs over six innings while walking three. Caleb Luedike collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Luedike doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning. Monroe Central Varsity Bears opened the scoring in the first after Lane Wilson laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs. Monroe Central Varsity Bears added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Luedike singled down the left field line, Monroe Central Varsity Bears scored on a wild pitch, and Middleton was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Carter Duncan singled down the right field line, Logan Walker singled down the right field line, and Middleton grounded out, each scoring one run. Tri scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to left field by B Jackson. Jackson took the loss for Tri. The hurler went two innings, allowing five runs on two hits, striking out none and walking five. Mason McCreery appeared in relief for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Wilson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two runs batted in. Duncan collected two hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears in two at bats. Duncan stole three bases. Monroe Central Varsity Bears ran wild on the base paths, amassing seven stolen bases for the game. Jackson, K Lunsford, and K Knedley each collected one hit for Tri. Jackson and Lunsford each drove in one run for Tri. J Cox stole two bases. Tri didn't commit a single error in the field. Jackson had the most chances in the field with seven.
