Monroe Central Varsity Bears With Tough Game Against Centerville Varsity Bulldogs By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears had trouble keeping up with Centerville Varsity Bulldogs in an 18-1 loss on Thursday. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the first inning after Madi Yount doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, Lilly Day singled, scoring two runs, and Hannah Beaman singled, scoring two runs. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Pomplin singled to left field, Halle Drook grounded out, and Monroe Central Varsity Bears dropped a third strike, each scoring one run. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Aubrey Seifer singled, scoring one run, Haven Walter singled, scoring one run, Day drew a walk, scoring one run, Beaman drew a walk, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored two runs. Shelby Thomas earned the win for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Raegan Quattlebaum took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The reliever went one inning, giving up three runs (two earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking three. Kloee Brannan began the game for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and 12 runs (zero earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking two. Seifer began the game for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Zoie Hood and Ailey Moon each collected one hit for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Laura Walker stole three bases. Day led Centerville Varsity Bulldogs with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Day and Pomplin each collected two hits for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. Day stole two bases. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs had patience at the plate, collecting five walks for the game.
