Alexa T A Difficult Out As Monroe Central Middle School Defeat Union City By GameChanger Media Alexa T collected three hits in four at bats, as Monroe Central Middle School defeated Union City 14-7 on Friday. Alexa tripled in the second inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Monroe Central Middle School got on the board in the top of the second inning after Alexa tripled to left field, and Monroe Central Middle School scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. Monroe Central Middle School added one run in the third after Lucy H singled to left field. Union City flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 7-5. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Monroe Central Middle School jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth when Gracie M doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Monroe Central Middle School scored six runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning. Gracie singled, scoring two runs, Bristol G doubled, scoring two runs, Alexa doubled, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run. Lucy opened the game for Monroe Central Middle School. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking five. Jocelyn B stepped in the circle first for Union City. The starting pitcher gave up 18 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none. Delainee W appeared in relief for Monroe Central Middle School. Monroe Central Middle School piled up 18 hits in the game. Gracie provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Monroe Central Middle School with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Ivy P, Alexa, and Bristol each collected three hits for Monroe Central Middle School. Haidyn K collected two hits for Monroe Central Middle School in four at bats. Ivy stole two bases. Monroe Central Middle School turned one double play in the game. Jocelyn went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Union City had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game.
