Monroe Central Junior High Defeat Union City Behind Strong Performance From Alex Middleton By GameChanger Media Alex Middleton was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 16 strikeouts in Monroe Central Junior High's 14-4 victory over Union City on Friday at Union City High School. Middleton gave up one hit and four runs over five and one-third innings while walking four. Monroe Central Junior High scored nine runs in the third inning on the way to victory. a passed ball scored one run, a wild pitch scored one run, Greyson Wiles drew a walk, scoring one run, Logan Keith doubled, scoring two runs, Parker Morris singled, scoring one run, Middleton singled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run. Monroe Central Junior High got on the board in the top of the first inning after Middleton tripled to center field, and Peyton Stacy grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run. Yader Pichaedo Juarez stepped on the bump first for Union City. The pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Stacy appeared in relief for Monroe Central Junior High. Monroe Central Junior High accumulated 10 hits in the game. Middleton drove the middle of the lineup, leading Monroe Central Junior High with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Morris went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Monroe Central Junior High in hits. Wiles collected two hits for Monroe Central Junior High in three at bats. Mason Gilliam paced Monroe Central Junior High with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Middleton and Morris each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central Junior High. Monroe Central Junior High ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game. Monroe Central Junior High were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Morris made the most plays with 17.
