Varsity Baseball falls to Winchester in the Randolph County Tournament

Monroe Central Varsity Bears Stymied By Winchester Community By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears had trouble keeping up with Winchester Community in a 15-5 loss on Saturday. Winchester Community jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Dravin Whitehead doubled, scoring one run, McCormac Anderson singled, scoring one run, Justin Cox singled, scoring one run, Aidan Weatherhead doubled, scoring two runs, and Landen Porfidio singled, scoring one run. Winchester Community scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Bryce Tippett singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Tre Weist singled, scoring one run, Whitehead singled, scoring one run, and Anderson doubled, scoring two runs. Porfidio earned the win for Winchester Community. The hurler surrendered six hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Lane Wilson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Monroe Central Varsity Bears in hits. Kyler Bogue and Isaac Middleton each drove in two runs for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Winchester Community amassed 15 hits in the game. Anderson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Winchester Community with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Anderson, Whitehead, Porfidio, Cooper Hummel, Weist, and Tippett each collected two hits for Winchester Community. Next up for Monroe Central Varsity Bears is a game against Elwood on Monday.
