Junior High Baseball falls to Alexandria

Monroe Central Junior High With Tough Game Against Alexandria By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Junior High had trouble keeping up with Alexandria in an 8-0 loss on Monday at Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr. High School. Alexandria got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Carlin Deckard singled down the right field line, Cole Brizendine singled to left field, and Wyatt Sizelove doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Alexandria added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Nash Simpson tripled down the left field line, and Monroe Central Junior High committed an error, each scoring one run. Logan Keith opened the game for Monroe Central Junior High. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and eight runs (five earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Simpson led things off on the mound for Alexandria. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. Alex Middleton and Abe Chamberlain were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Monroe Central Junior High. Simpson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Alexandria with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Cooper Morgan and Deckard each collected two hits for Alexandria.
