Monroe Central Middle School Stymied By Selma By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Middle School couldn't keep up with Selma and fell 9-2 on Thursday. Selma got on the board in the second inning after Lilly K doubled, scoring one run. A single by Kyndle S, and an error helped Selma extend their early lead in the third. Berlynn V earned the win for Selma. The hurler allowed six hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Lucy H took the loss for Monroe Central Middle School. The starting pitcher went seven innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking six. Haidyn K led Monroe Central Middle School with one run batted in. The catcher went 3-for-3 on the day. Monroe Central Middle School turned one double play in the game. Selma piled up 10 hits in the game. Kelci B, Jordan N, and Lilly each collected two hits for Selma. Addison R and Lila P each drove in two runs for Selma. Tayler W paced Selma with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Jordan stole two bases. Monroe Central Middle School will travel to Randolph Southern for their next game on Tuesday.
