The Monroe Central Varsity Golden Bears volleyball team opened their season on Tuesday night with a Varsity ONLY contest against the Indians of Union City. The Golden Bears came determined to play and were able to secure this season opener 3-0 with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-13. The Golden Bears played very solid as a team and had many team members contributing some solid stats. Senior Hadley Hendrickson had 15 kills and 5 aces. Senior Shyan Bennett had 13 kills, 1 ace and 5 digs. Senior Addi Grove with 6 kills, 4 aces and 2 digs. Senior Angie Burress had 5 digs, 6 receptions and an impressive 0 passing errors. Senior Sophia Bolton brought 14 assists to the match tonight and Sophomore Bentley Pegg had 24 assists, 3 aces, 2 kills and 3 digs. Great job tonight working as a team tonight ladies. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Thursday night (8/21) as they travel to Muncie to take on the Muncie Burris Owls.
