Monroe Central

The Monroe Central JV & Varsity volleyball teams traveled to Muncie Burris on Thursday evening. The Varsity team came in this evening very excited to play against this Owl volleyball squad. Nerves got the best of the Golden Bears in set 1 and they had great difficulty getting started falling 7-25. This group of girls was able to regroup and put up an amazing fight in set 2 which turned out to be quite the exciting set with a score of 23-25. The Golden Bears continued to fight in set 3 but the Owls kept putting away some great plays and this set ended with a score of 15-25. A few stats to note tonight were Senior Shyan Bennett who had 5 kills, 18 receptions and 5 digs. Senior Hadley Hendrickson had 4 kills, 3 aces, 7 receptions and 6 digs. Senior Addi Grove had 5 kills, 1 ace and 4 digs. This Varsity group of girls is going to be a lot of fun to watch this season. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Monday night for their first home match of the season against Elwood. JV will start at 6:00 p.m.
