The Golden Bears volleyball program traveled to Southern Wells this evening for JV/Varsity matchup. The Varsity contest started out in a dead heat in set 1. The Raiders were able to find a little ground to pull away and took set one with a score of 18-25. The Golden Bears struggled to recover in set two and lost that set 9-25. After a brief reset, Monroe Central came out determined to fight as hard as possible in set 3 and definitely made it interesting. However, the Raiders were able to take this match tonight 3-0 with a final score in the third set of 24-26. Some stats to mention tonight were Senior Hadley Hendrickson with 10 kills, 18 receptions and 7 digs. Junior Raegan Quattlebaum had 1 ace, 2 receptions and 6 digs. Impressive for Raegan was her willingness and ability to step in and play front row during a brief moment of injury. Senior Addi Grove also had 3 aces, 3 kills and 2 digs. The Golden Bear volleyball teams get no break this week and will be back in action tomorrow (8/27) at home when the face off with the Rockets from Union. The JV match will begin at 6pm.
