The Rockets from Union traveled to MC tonight for a JV/Varsity volleyball matchup. The Varsity match started out a bit different. The Rockets came ready to play and the Golden Bears were struggling with some errors and the first set ended with a score of 23-25. It was for sure a battle the remainder of the way but the Golden Bears came up victorious with a score of 3-2 with total set scores of 23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 24-26 and 15-8. Leading the way for the Golden Bears tonight was Senior Addi Grove with 12 aces, 7 kills and 3 digs. Some other stats needing mention were from Sophomore Bentley Pegg with 4 aces, 4 kills, 48 assists and 4 digs. Senior Angie Burress had 8 receptions and 9 digs while Senior Sophia Bolton had 11 receptions with an amazing 0 errors and 9 digs. This Golden Bear volleyball team gets no break as they head into action tomorrow night (8/28) against the Knights of Northeastern. The JV match will kickoff at 6pm.
