The Knights of Northeastern traveled to MC tonight for a high school volleyball matchup. The Varsity match got off to a great start and had lots of back of forth. The Knights Varsity squad was fairly solid all the way around and were able to outlast our Bears 3-0 with scores of 18-25, 14-25 and 21-25. Tonight our player of the match was Sophia Bolton not only for the stats she provided but for outstanding mental attitude and team spirit. Every single time Sophia steps on the court she tries her hardest to lift the spirit of her teammates. Tonight she had 13 receptions with only 1 error and 6 digs. Other nice stats were brought by Senior Angie Burress with 6 receptions and 11 digs; Senior Hadley Hendrickson with 8 kills, 13 receptions and 7 digs; and Senior Syan Bennett with 7 kills, 13 receptions and 6 digs. The JV/Varsity Golden Bears will be back in action on Tuesday (9/2) when they travel to Hagerstown to take on the Tigers. The JV match is scheduled to start at 6pm.
