The Junior Varsity and Varsity Golden Bear volleyball teams traveled to Hagerstown this evening for a non-conference matchup. The Varsity match tonight brought great excitement as both teams showed up to play. It started with the Golden Bears winning the first set 27-25. The Tigers answered back in set two winning 19-25. The Bears were determined to keep at it and took set three 26-24. Then the Tigers got big momentum in set four 10-25. They kept that momentum to win the match 2-3 with a final score of 5-15. The Golden Bears did have some impressive stats this evening with Freshman Maylynn Morrison having 7 kills, 4 receptions, 3 aces and 9 digs. Freshman Mckenna Murphy had 9 kills, 1 block and 1 dig. Senior Shyan Bennet had 11 kills, 35 receptions and 14 digs while Senior Hadley Hendrickson had 6 kills, 31 receptions and 8 digs. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Thursday (9/4) when they travel to Cowan to faceoff with the Blackhawks. JV is slated to begin at 6pm.
