7th Grade: Lady Bears Bounce Back Strong at Randolph Southern The Monroe Central 7th Grade Lady Bears picked up another win on the road, defeating Randolph Southern in straight sets (25-18, 25-9). The Bears started off a little slow and didn’t quite look like themselves in the first set, but quickly found their rhythm. In the second set, they came out much stronger, allowing for key substitutions and giving more players valuable court time. The Lady Bears were led by Alexa Tinsman with 5 kills and 3 aces. Delainee Whitehead added 4 aces and 1 kill, while Blakely Burge set the offense with 3 assists. Mabrey Cheesman contributed 2 aces and 1 assist, and Ellie Lanter chipped in 2 aces. The Lady Bears will be back in action on Thursday at home against the Driver Hawks. 8th Grade: The 8th Grade Lady Bears overcame Randolph Southern in last night's volleyball match. Performance highlights include Alyssa Chalfant: 2 aces / Bristol Goad: 5 aces, 1 kill, 2 digs / Landry Taylor: 1 kill, 2 assists / Izzy McGrath: 2 aces, 5 kills, 1 assist / Gracie McCreery: 1 ace, 3 kills / Haidyn Knott: 2 kills, 4 assists / Claire Cheesman: 2 aces , 3 kills, 1 dig / Mati McConnell: 1 dig / Callie Grove: 1 kill / Anna Wines: 1 dig / Ashtyn Baldwin: 1 dig / Blayklee Wilson: 2 aces. THAT IS THE WHOLE TEAM! The team will round out their school week with a match against Driver on Thursday night before heading to the Driver Invitational on Saturday.
