Varsity Football defeats Tindley

Monroe Central 45, Indianapolis Tindley 20 The Monroe Central football team earned its second win of the season, outlasting Indianapolis Tindley 45-20 Friday night in Parker City. The Golden Bears (2-3) had 421 rushing yards on the night, with eight players logging rushing attempts in all. They were led by Caden Dance, who had four rushing touchdowns on the night to go with 96 rushing yards, while Caleb Luedike had 12 rushing attempts for a game-best 126 yards and a touchdown. Kyler Bogue (five rushing attempts, 62 yards), Luke Anderson (four rushing attempts, 34 yards), and Ethan Hunt (six rushing attempts, 74 yards) also had rushing touchdowns on the night. The Monroe Central defense held tight against a pass-heavy Tigers offensive attack. The Golden Bears had nine passes defensed and one interception on the night — both led by Luedike, who snatched his third pick of the season and had a game-best three passes defensed. Bogue had a team-best five tackles and had two passes defensed. Corban Pegg and Anderson also logged sacks for Monroe Central, while Hunt added a tackle for loss. The Golden Bears return home next Friday, when they play host to Wes-Del (2-2). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
