Junior High Volleyball defeats Wes-Del

6th Grade: Your 6th Grade Lady Bears traveled to Wes-Del. They took a 3-game loss to the Warriors ( 25-14, 22-25, 11,15). All the girls played in their last season game. The team was led by Cora Greene with 10 Aces! Hailey Grove had 5 Aces! Berkeley Taylor had 4 aces with accomplishing an overhand serve to end the year! Jillian Goad after losing a tooth at lunch had 2 Aces! McKenzie Garringer finished with 2 Aces, Jovie Dunlap had 1 Ace, Emma Guyllette had 1 serve over. Harper Robinson and London Engle had some great defensive plays. Missed the last game of the season Serenity Wilson due to sickness. The girls finished the season with a record 5-4. It was a Great learning of the game season! Can't wait to see what the future holds for these girls! 7th Grade: Lady Bears Earn Road Victory Over Wes-Del The Monroe Central 7th grade Lady Bears traveled to Wes-Del and came away with a straight-set victory, winning 25-21, 25-20. The Bears were led by Mabrey Cheesman with 5 digs, 4 aces, and 3 assists. Alexa Tinsman added 3 kills, 1 block, and 1 dig, while Delainee Whitehead contributed 2 digs, 1 ace, and 1 kill. Blakely Burge chipped in 3 digs and 1 assist, and Ellie Lanter served up 2 aces to go along with 1 kill. Harper Whitehead and Jazzy Ford each added a dig to round out the team effort. With the win, the Lady Bears improve their record to 14-4 on the season. 8th Grade: Last night, the 8th grade volleyball team was successful in defeating a strong Wes-Del team in a 3-set showdown! Final scores were 23-25, 25-21, 15-10. Performance highlights include Haidyn Knott: 5 aces, 2 kills, 6 assists, 2 digs / Landry Taylor: 4 aces, 2 kills, 5 assists, 4 digs / Bristol Goad: 2 aces, 2 kills, 8 digs / Alyssa Chalfant: 5 aces, 5 digs / Claire Cheesman: 1 ace, 3 kills, 2 digs / Izzy McGrath: 6 kills / Mati McConnell: 5 digs / Ashtyn Baldwin: 5 digs / Gracie McCreery: 3 kills / Callie Grove: 1 kill. The 8th grade team will travel to Blackford Middle School tonight.
