7th Grade: The 7th Grade Lady Bears fell to Blackford in a hard-fought three-set match, 25-23, 16-25, 11-15. The Bears were led by Alexa Tinsman, who had a strong performance with 10 kills, 5 digs, and 1 block. Mabrey Cheesman added 7 assists, 1 ace, and 2 digs, while Delainee Whitehead contributed 4 digs, 3 aces, and 3 kills. Ellie Lanter served up 4 aces along with 3 kills and 1 dig, and Blakely Burge chipped in 3 assists, 2 aces, and 1 dig. Adelyn Pugsley also helped defensively with 1 dig. 8th Grade: In a huge battle against Blackford, the 8th Grade Lady Bears came out victorious, 25-24, 24-25, 15-12. Performance highlights included Haidyn Knott: 4 kills, 10 assists, 7 digs / Bristol Goad: 1 ace, 5 kills, 9 digs / Landry Taylor: 2 aces, 2 kills, 11 assists / Izzy McGrath: 12 kills, 1 block, 1 assist / Gracie McCreery: 9 kills, 3 digs / Claire Cheesman: 3 kills, 5 digs / Alyssa Chalfant: 1 ace, 6 digs / Mati McConnell: 3 digs / Callie Grove: 3 kills, 2 assists / Ashtyn Baldwin: 2 digs. The team will merge with the 7th graders in a singular match against Union this evening, then return to normal for a matchup against Jay County on the Monday of Fall Break.
