The Golden Bears Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Union tonight for the Quarterfinal Sectional match against last year's Sectional Champions the Seton Catholic Cardinals. Our Golden Bears came in with a great team spirit and were able to upset Seton Catholic 3-0 with scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-20. Golden Bears putting up remarkable stats tonight were: Freshman Maylynn Morrison with 9 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks, 12 digs and 5 receptions. Senior Libero Sophia Bolton with 1 ace, 9 digs and 19 receptions. Sophomore Bentley Pegg with 1 kill, 4 aces, 10 digs and 34 assists. Senior Shyan Bennett with 11 kills, 1 ace, 9 digs and 6 receptions Senior Hadley Hendrickson with 8 kills, 2 blocks, 17 digs and 7 receptions. The Golden Bears advance to the semi-final round where they will play the Rebels from Randolph Southern on Saturday (10/18) at 1:00p.m. This match will take place at Union High School.
