The Varsity Golden Bears traveled to Union for the Sectional Semi-Final against Randolph Southern on 10/18 @ 1pm. The Golden Bears came ready to play and ended up winning this match 3-0 with scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-12. The previous match advanced the Golden Bears to the Sectional Championship match against the Vikings from Blue River which was played at 6 pm. Again, the Golden Bears came ready to play and became Sectional Champions for the first time in 15 years as they won the match 3-0 with scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 26-24. Stats for Golden Bear players between the two matches were: Freshman Maylynn Morrison with 5 aces, 15 kills, 15 receptions and 11 digs. Senior Sophia Bolton with 6 aces, 24 receptions and 20 digs Freshman Mckenna Murphy with 8 kills Senior Addi Grove with 3 aces, 3 kills, 1 reception, 1 block, 1 assist and 5 digs Sophomore Bentley Pegg with 6 aces, 1 kill, 61 assists and 5 digs Senior Shyan Bennett with 5 aces, 20 kills, 9 receptions, 1 block, 2 assists and 23 digs Senior Hadley Hendrickson with 6 aces, 21 kills, 14 receptions, 1 assist and 18 digs. The Golden Bears have advanced to the Regional Championship game where they will face off with Faith Christian next Saturday (10/25) at 7 pm. This match will be played at Elwood.
