Jr High Defeats Southern Wells

On Tuesday the Golden Bears defeated the Southern Wells Raiders 20-0. The defensive shutout was lead by Logan Swallow and Colton Bradley, while an offensive tandem of Jaime Hancock, Braden Case, and Isaac Moles pushed the Bears to victory. The girls and boys cross country teams participated in The Pendleton Heights Arabian Roundup last night. 10th ranked MC downs SW in 4 games

The Class 2A 10th ranked Lady Bears continued their winning ways Tuesday, winning on the road at Southern Wells in 4 games, 25-21, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-20. MC is now 3-0 on the year. The JV also won in 3 games by scores of 23-25, 25-16 and 15-12. Stats from last night include: Zoee Kear: 2

JV opens the year with a win

Monroe Central’s JV football team, compiled mainly of freshmen, won their season opener Monday night. Freshman Kaden Conklin ran for a touchdown and added the two-point conversion, while Kamron Cawdell had a game-ending interception. The JV Bears traveled to Union City where they earned an 8-6 victory. MC hosts Southern Wells next Monday.

Lady Bears fall to Jay, Bluffton

Monroe Central’s girls golf team fell to Jay County (205), and Bluffton (216) while shooting a 233. The Lady Bears were led by Kinzie Williams 57, Gail McGrath 58, Maggie Combs 58, Maggie Ridge 60, and Cassi Buis 61. Sanders of Jay County was the medalist with a 47.  

DiBiasio among state leaders

Junior Katarina DiBiasio is among Class 2A and State stat leaders. Kat is 3rd in Class 2A in hitting percentage at .413 and 5th in the state. She is also 10th in Class 2A in kills and 32nd in the state. Zoee Kear is 40th in the state in digs, also ranking 13th in Class

Lady Bears ranked 10th in 2A polls

Monroe Central’s volleyball team has started the year 2-0 and has been rewarded as they share 10th place in the polls with 2 other schools. Lady Bears win first meet

The Lady Bear golf team won their first match of the year Thursday at Maplewood. MC 245, Union 262. Medalist for the meet with the lowest score was Kinzie Williams:56 Also for MC: Cassi Buis 62, Gail McGrath 63, and Jacy Weatherly 64.

CC hosts almost 700 runners in invite

The girls and boys cross country teams hosted The Meister Family Memorial Run this past Saturday with nearly 700 runners. The places for each MC Lady Golden Bear Runner were: Aubrey Norris, 19th overall, 22:14.8. Abrea Gaddis, 35th overall, 23:11.4. Kaylie Johnston, 46th overall, 23:32.8. Marissa Huddleston, 75th overall, 25:20.4. The boys placed eighth in the meet.
