Regional pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday; Kickoff at 7

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow for the Class 1A Regional Friday when Southwood comes to Monroe Central for a 7 p.m. kickoff. All tickets are $8. 26 unanswered points gives Bears first-ever sectional title

Sheridan drew blood first Friday night, but Monroe Central’s offense scored 26 unanswered points as the Bears defense clamped down on the Blackhawks leading to the school’s first ever sectional championship, 26-7. Sheridan senior Joe Callahan capped the opening drive with a 30 yard TD run. The PAT gave the heralded Blackhawks a 7-0 lead.

Seth Wilson earns Randolph County Athlete of the Week honors

Junior Seth Wilson, a member of the 4th ranked Monroe Central football team, has been named  the Randolph County “Athlete of the Week” sponsored by WZZY/Star 98.3FM in Winchester and the Wetzel Auto Group. This is the 2nd time for Wilson this fall. Wilson had 4 rushing TDs last Friday in the 42-12 sectional semi-final win over Clinton Prairie.
