Lady Bears 7-2 for the week with BIG W’s over Penn, Logansport

Monroe Central’s girls basketball program is all over the map this summer – literally. Coming off a 24-3 year with county, conference, and sectional titles, the Lady Bears have played several larger schools and some very talented teams. On June 2, MC played at Ohio Dominican where they finished 2-1 playing Eastmoor Academy, Beavercreek and Waterford.

Hannah Bolton named MVP at All-Star game; Katie Pike, Brooke Bolton also All-Stars

Monroe Central had 3 girls recently participate in the 6th annual Indiana Elite North-South All-Star games at Lebanon High School. Freshmen Brooke Bolton, Hannah Bolton, and Katie Pike also played in the event. Hannah Bolton was named MVP in the game she participated in. There will be a pep rally Friday afternoon starting at 2:30 centered around the Lady Bears and recognizing a few others. Those who ordered sectional champion t-shirts – those will be available Friday during the day in the front office or athletic office.  

7th grade Ladies end year at 16-5 with win over Eastern Hancock

The 7th grade Lady Bears wrapped up their season Tuesday night at Eastern Hancock with a 39-35 victory. Catherine Duncan led the way with 11 points as the Lady Bears ended the season with a 16-5 record. The 8th grade fell to Eastern Hancock, 44-8, and finished the year at 4-13.

Tickets for this Saturday’s Eastern girls basketball regional will be on sale Tuesday thru Friday at noon in the main office at Monroe Central. We have 200 season tickets.
