Young Bears gain valuable experience at Regional

Monroe Central was one of 18 teams in the Muncie Central Regional, but there is little doubt the Bears were the youngest team competing. Monroe Central’s golf team captured the Mid-Eastern Conference title Saturday edging Daleville, 346-353, at Crestview. Rounding out the MEC field were Wapahani at 361, Shenandoah 364, Wes-Del 375, Eastern Hancock 398, and Blue River with an incomplete team score. Monroe Central’s boys golf team continued to have success Thursday evening as they defeated City, 170-199. Senior Ross Shafer turned in the lowest score for the Bears with a 37. Freshmen Ryder Jones shot a 43 and with a 44 was Shawn Roderick. Khaner Phillips turned in a 46 and Roman Braun had a 56.

Delta slips past MC golf team

Delta slipped past Monroe Central in a boys golf match Wednesday night, 175-183. The Bears were led by senior Ross Shafer with a 43, while freshmen Ryder Jones and Shawn Roderick each shot a 45.  Khaner Phillips turned in a 50 and with a 53 was Landon Taylor.
